Berlin consortium wins national competition

Berlin - 24 July 2001 In the national competition

"Innovative Regional Growth Centers"

sponsored by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research, xmlcity:berlin, a consortium of 11 companies and universities in Berlin, was selected as the winner over 122 competitors. The 11 members of the consortium are: Art + Com AG, bone labs GmbH, Chemie.DE GmbH, EsPresto AG, Humboldt University of Berlin, infonie GmbH, Shinka Technologies AG, Technical University of Berlin, Webcrew GbR and Wire & Wireless GmbH.
The regional growth center

The goal of the <xmlcity:berlin> regional growth center is to establish Berlin with its IT companies as the leading region nationwide in the XML technology branch. Based on the experience of the participating founding companies, an open competence center for XML technologies will be created. With its broad range of technical and scientific expertise, it will be on a par with the globally active company groups in this technological sector.
