Consultant Services and a Comprehensive Support of Various Projects
With about 26,800 students, WU (Vienna University of Economics and Business) is the EU’s largest educational institution and an EsPresto customer since 2005.
EsPresto provides next to the development of extension modules of CMS "Silva" - which is used for the operation of the website of the university - a permanent support and consultant services on numerous exploration projects.
"WU Member", "WU Events" and "WU Tagging"
According to "WU Member" EsPresto provided support for displaying of public user profiles, for integration of personal data from LDAP and publication lists of the WU system Fides - a system for research, information, documentation and evaluation.
"WU Events" is a module for administration, displaying and search of events. EsPresto provided support in defining requirements, projects and in implementing features - such as a special workflow including a public form for registry of new events, also a full-text search, date or particular topic as well as RSS feed and a calendar widget.
"WU Tagging" is a module for tagging websites. EsPresto is responsible for the integration of that functionality into the CMS in cooperation with WU, so that pages can be tagged.
EsPresto provided full consultant services in design and implementation of tagging as a web service for all websites of the Vienna University of Economics and Business. In addition to that, EsPresto created an efficient data storage in a separate SQL database and gave expert advice regarding efficiency considerations in the frontend and in use of Web 2.0 technologies such as AJAX or autocompletion.
"Silva Web Form"
"Silva Web Form" is a module to create and involve web forms on content pages of the content management system that enables web editors to compile forms without HTML and serverside programming in any constellation. Another task was the processing of form values as CSV download and email notification as well as the development of an extension for processing form values in the plug-in mechanism.
