Intelligent Handling of Corporate Information

EsPresto AG has signed a cooperation agreement with FU-Berlin covering the improvement of corporate information systems.

Berlin, 8 May 2008 – By today's signing of the agreement between EsPresto AG and FU-Berlin EsPresto has become partner in the BMBF-funded project 'Corporate Semantic Web' .

This cooperation aims at improving information systems and corporate knowledge management applications via the 'semantic web', thus enabling companies to improve their access and use of complex and partially unstructured information.

CSW - Corporate Semantec Web - Intelligenter Umgang mit Informationen in Unternehmen

Within the project Corporate Semantic Web - short 'CSW' - the partners cooperate on the following topics:

  • Knowledge transfer of basic coporate semantic web technologies
  • Knowledge exchange about requirements emerging from the use of semantic technologies in industry
  • Collaboration on setting up an industrial network of companies interested in semantic technologies

The semantic web aims at improving the results of web searches by narrowing the results to texts which logically fit to the keyword 'meant'. For example, if today you look up the keyword 'mice' you will get results on computer mice as well as on rodents. In the semantic web a user should only get results on rodents if this is what he was actually looking for.
