EsPresto AG wins another contract for an XML project
The goal of EsPresto AG's innovative project is to offer companies and institutions across the board an affordable way to create intelligent, efficient work and business processes. However, such developments entail high costs, and for that reason have been available only to large companies up to now.
During the cooperation, staff must be able to rely on well-designed, clearly defined work processes, fast and timely communication and the required access to the relevant data and information that they need.
In collaboration with a consortium known as an XML growth center, which consists of 10 companies and two universities, work processes and business processes will be redesigned on an XML basis to increase efficiency. The "XML Growth Center" project is part of the promotion and development program "Innovative Regional Growth Centers".
EsPresto AG is responsible for the development of components that will facilitate optimal teamwork. Collaborative portals should be generated partially automatically, which will eliminate the usual high development costs. A Web-based solution simplifies the expansion of global business relationships and enhances competitive ability. EsPresto AG is promoting these goals.
The German Federal Ministry of Education and Research, after recognizing the project successfully completed between 2001-2003, has awarded further funding. In the course of the project entitled
"Platform for Intelligent Collaborative Portals"
or "PINK" for short, a modular solution is being developed. This facilitates combining individually oriented portal solutions by mouse-click.
The declaration of funding was presented personally by the education minister Ms. Edelgard Bulmahn at an event held by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research on November 16, 2004. The 3-year project is being launched in November 2004. Berlin will thus continue to expand its position as the leading XML competence center in Germany.
